In fact, the first use of them will be for read/write on block devices with greater than 2TB of data. Many old CDBs didn't have enough room for large addresses (>4bytes). T10 has approved a number of related proposals to address this limitation. Some of these proposals use long cdbs. Also keep in mind that these are approved, not just under discussion. Jim Hafner
