Once upon a time, I had imagined that iSCSI targets would implement a `minimal' SLP directory agent for the purposes of doing this unicast discovery. However, a cursory scan of the SLP RFC suggests that this might be running roughshod over the protocol, and more importantly, a minimal SLP directory agent looks pretty bulky. Sigh, rats. Oh well. Nonetheless, I still think that tweaking SLP to do the job would be an OK idea, and perhaps the right architectural approach, if the SLP guys are sold on standardizing it. Steph
