[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index] Re: iSCSI simplificationI doubt there will ever be agreement on what to "eliminate".... some people want multiple connections because they think it will improve performance, others want the simplicity of one... some people want CRCs mandated for data integrity... others don't because it slows down their software implementation... some people want markers because it accelerates hw performance and reduces cost... the software implementations will complain about that too, then there's the "warp" camp that will complain because markers eliminate some of their ammunition for getting that. Some want precise error recovery, others want the big hammer approach. And I won't even get into the discovery stuff.... The "interoperability plugfest" will test to two versions of the spec (0 vs 0.6) - that's interoperability for you! -Matt
