I'm not real pleased that the version number has advanced over the course of draft revisions, and the final RFC will NOT contain features intended only to support implementations that use an old draft version of the protocol and hence don't comply with the RFC. Every Internet-Draft contains a long version of "subject to change", and implementations based on old versions need to be updated as opposed to burdening implementers who are making the required changes with the hassle of dealing with other implementations that haven't. Be forewarned that further requests of this form may result in instructions from on high to rev the version number downward in a future draft version.
