[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index] Re: iSCSI Session Recovery - primary/secondary iSCSI targets?Dave, I am not sure what you are after. As long as you don't kill or let the session die you can keep it alive by replacing failing connections with new connections. If you let the session die but would like to rebuild the session with the target and initiator (the SCSI entities) perceiving the same nexus you can do this too - within the bounds of the naming structures. This would imply that the initiator would have to restart a session on a new set of connection(s) using the alternate network path (should the primary one continue to fail). Perhaps one way is to use multiple iSCSI target names/portals to represent each independent path through the network. If this approach were taken, there doesn't appear to be any standardized way of retrieving *primary*/*secondary* iSCSI target names during Session failure recovery. (At least reading through section 8.11.4 of Draft 09 doesn't mention this.)
