[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index] iSCSI inband negotiation - possible change? In reading over the initial responses to the proposed resolution, I see multiple concerns about the "MUST use" requirements for ESP encryption in the case that the "SHOULD" for sufficient entropy/randomness in CHAP secrets is ignored. Part of the intent of the "MUST use" was to put some serious teeth into the "SHOULD". Would people prefer an alternative in which sufficient entropy/randomness in CHAP secrets is a "MUST" and the "MUST use" ESP encryption requirement is removed, as there's no point in discussing what to do when a "MUST" is ignored? Caveat: I don't know if this'll pass muster with the ADs/IESG, but want to gauge interest in it before inquiring. Thanks, --David --------------------------------------------------- David L.
