[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index] Re: Maximum size of text responseThere is practically no limit although the spec specifies a minimum "grand-total" that an implementation must support. In any case none of those limits where devised for the responses to the SendTargets but rather for "parameter" type of text. For Sendtarget the initiator will fill whatever DataBase or Screen it needs and the initiator "paces" the reception of responses through its Text commands according to its "absorption capability". The spec says that immediate data size in a Text Response MUST not exceed MaxRecvDataSegmentLength. If the response for, say "SendTargets=All" command, cannot be sent in one PDU, the target can spread it across multiple PDUs (setting F bit to 0 in all but the last PDU). In this case, the spec doesn't say what the maximum cumulative size of all the PDUs can be (or am I missing it)? If there a limit on the maximum datasize, which parameter determines that - MaxBurstLength? thanks! -lakshmi
